Support California's Election Rigging Response Act to Protect US Democracy
7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
Today I take pen in hand to write and express my strong support for the recently signed 'Election Rigging Response Act' legislative package and to urge you to continue defending our democratic processes.
This crucial legislation, which includes Proposition 50 on the November ballot, is a necessary response to what many Californians, including myself, see as attempts to undermine our national election electoral system.
The package's provisions are both timely and essential. It empowers Californians to adopt a new, temporary Congressional map in response to redistricting efforts in other states that may unfairly skew representation.
It also establishes procedures for a special election and creates temporary Congressional District Maps. These measures are designed to ensure fairness and protect the integrity of our electoral process.
Governor Newsom's signing of this package demonstrates California's commitment to safeguarding democracy. The legislation is temporary and focused on fairness, allowing voters like me to potentially halt what we perceive as attempts to manipulate elections.
It's worth noting that California's proactive legal efforts have already recouped at least $168 billion in federal funding, showcasing the importance of standing firm in defense of our state's interests.
I also support our recent state efforts, such as seeking an injunction to stop the federalization of the National Guard and the pre-deployment of firefighting resources, underscore the need for continued vigilance.
I urge you to vocally support and defend the Election Rigging Response Act. As my representative, I ask that you work to ensure its full implementation and to educate constituents about Proposition 50 ahead of the November vote.
Our democracy's strength lies in fair and transparent elections, and this legislation is a critical step in that direction.
