Stop the Division—America Needs Leadership, Not Rhetoric

The United States needs a leader who will unite, not divide. President Trump continues to promote rhetoric that inflames divisions, undermines trust in democratic institutions, and pits Americans against each other for political gain. I urge you to hold the President and others in power accountable and to demand a shift away from this destructive behavior toward a politics that values compromise, truth, and the American people above all else.
This country cannot function if elected officials prioritize power over principle. As recent data show, political polarization has reached historic highs, with nearly three-quarters of Americans expressing concern that democracy is at risk (Pew Research Center, July 2025). Instead of fueling resentment, President Trump should be working with both parties to address real problems—like rising costs, climate disasters, and threats to public safety—that affect all of us, regardless of political affiliation.
Trump’s pattern of attacking judges, threatening political opponents, and spreading baseless election conspiracies has already eroded public faith in core democratic processes (ProPublica, June 2025). Our elected officials must stop enabling this behavior. Silence is complicity. We need leaders who will speak up for democratic norms, protect voting rights, and condemn authoritarian tactics, no matter who uses them.
Americans are exhausted by the chaos. We want governance, not grievance. We want a President who sees all Americans as worthy of dignity and rights—not just those who chant his name. We need elected officials who will resist the pull of extreme factions and instead find common ground to solve problems. That’s the only way this democracy survives.
I’m asking you to publicly reject rhetoric that divides, call out lies when they’re spoken—no matter the source—and commit to governing for all Americans. Please show the courage and leadership this moment demands.
