An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop Threatening Social Security

43 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

Threatening to halt Social Security payments in response to a judge's order is an unacceptable abuse of power that puts millions of Americans at risk. Social Security is a vital safety net program, not a bargaining chip. Protecting vulnerable citizens should be the top priority, not circumventing legal oversight. The administration must comply with the court's ruling to safeguard personal data privacy as required by law. Attempting to hold Social Security beneficiaries hostage to gain unfettered access to their private information is unconstitutional and a dereliction of duty. Public servants have a responsibility to follow the rule of law and judicial orders, not subvert them for political aims. We demand you uphold your oath and protect the rights and wellbeing of the American people.
