An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Preserve Department of Education's vital role in education

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Department of Education plays a crucial role in protecting children and ensuring equal access to quality education for all students. Eliminating it risks disrupting vital programs that support disadvantaged students, promote school safety, fund special education, and safeguard educational opportunity. We must preserve the Department's mission of advancing civil rights, protecting our nation's youth, and driving evidence-based reforms to improve student achievement and prepare children for future success. Rather than abolishing this essential agency upholding the right to education, I urge strengthening its ability to meet the educational needs of communities and defend the well-being of all students nationwide.
