Resistbot Petition: Tax the rich, feed the poor

An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Tax the rich, feed the poor

We need both wealth tax and higher tax brackets with higher rates. No person ever needs more than 100 million dollars for any reason and concentrating that much wealth is extremely dangerous. We have seen time and time again that concentration of power is bad for everyone. We talk about the minimum wage but let's set a maximum. 100% tax rate on all wealth over the 100 million. Quit frankly it 10 million would be far more reasonable but since you are right wing I have adjusted it for your sensibilities. All income over 200k should be at a 90% tax rate. 99% above 500k and 99.9% above 1 million. We should not allow the hording of wealth for the same reasons we oppose monopolies. They harm everyone and result in a lack of checks and accountability. That funding could provide for the basic human rights of every person in the United States. Ensuring everyone has the resources they need would provide the safety net and resources needed to drastically expand our art and innovation. How many great inventors and artists are trapped working 50 hour weeks just to survive. How many people are living on the streets when we could provide food, housing, and healthcare. The wealth of a society is the living conditions of it's poorest, not it's richest and most powerful.
