I am writing to you to warn you about the upcoming report on April 20, 2025 that is to be brought to Donald Trump by the DOD and DHS based on an Executive Order 14159, “Protecting the American People Against Invasion” he signed on January 20, 2025 citing a “national emergency at the southern border” and whether he should incite the Insurrection Act.
The Insurrection Act, passed in 1807, gives the president the authority to deploy the U.S. military on American soil. This means troops in our city. This means bypassing Congress and governors. This means suspending protest rights. It would be the end of democracy as we know it.
I urge you to take this threat seriously and to act immediately. We demand that an investigation to be opened on the January 20, 2025 Executive Order and urge your other Congressman/Senators to do the same.
Our democracy depends on it. And time is running out.
