Congress Went Home While Russia Helped Iran Target Our Troops

Dear Representative,
On October 16, the President waived nearly all of the sanctions, tariffs, and restrictions in the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, two days before they were due to take effect.
Congress passed that law with bipartisan majorities. One week earlier, Treasury issued a license allowing Russian diesel back onto global markets, a deal twelve senators from both parties called a betrayal of Ukraine.
This comes after U.S. intelligence officials told reporters that Russia has been passing Iran the locations of American forces, aircraft, and ships since the war began in February.
Iranian drones and missiles have since killed American service members in Kuwait, Jordan, and across the Gulf. Moscow is being handed new revenue while it helps Iran aim at our troops.
The House left Washington on September 16 and does not plan to return until November 9. The Speaker has said members can be recalled on 48 hours' notice. That authority exists for moments like this one.
I have seen no call from you to return to session, no statement opposing the waiver, and no public support for our allies or our service members on this issue.
I ask that you:
• Publicly call on House leadership to reconvene before the election
• Publicly oppose the October 16 waiver and the Russian diesel license
• Support legislation to override the waiver and limit future waiver authority under the Graham Act
• Demand a classified briefing on Russian targeting support to Iran and its role in American deaths.
If you take none of these steps, I will conclude that you are comfortable giving Russia the means to help Iran kill American service members, and that you are not fit for office.
See you on November 3.
Sincerely,
A Voting Constituent
