NEVER ENDING COVERUP. THE DOJ KEEPS MAKING THE EPSTEIN SCANDAL EVEN WORSE

Looks like the AG of the US may actually be forced to obey the law.
What a sentence to have to write.
In April of this year an independent journalist sued Todd Blanche over DOJ’s failure to fully release the Epstein Files in compliance with the Transparency Act passed by Congress. And signed into LAW by the president.
And she was successful. A federal judge this week entered an injunction in her favor.
The LAW required DOJ to “make publicly available in a searchable and downloadable format all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials” relating to Epstein, Maxwell, and others.
But it didn’t do that. It released about half of the files. And botched the redactions, exposing victims’ identities and other personal info. Doxxing them. Went ‘Woopsie my bad.’ Then claimed nothing else had to be released.
Specifically, the LAW prohibited the government from withholding or delaying anything in the files “on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary.”
The terms of the judge’s injunction now require the DOJ to clean up their Epstein mess by fixing the following failures to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act:
Unredact the names of senders and recipients in at least eight email exchanges that involve Jeffrey Epstein regarding a “torture video” and sexual activity with young women, including minors.
Unredact the names of possible co-defendants identified in a draft indictment, the names of individuals identified as possible co-conspirators, and the names of the individuals who were the sender and the recipients of an internal DOJ email briefing on the prosecution.
Turn over notes from FBI interviews with a victim who alleged that in the 1980s, when she was about 13 years old, Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump, who assaulted her.
Review and produce foreign language materials. None of which were previously included.
Publish logs detailing redactions that were made to documents and the reasons for them.
Seems transparency might not be the goal of the Trump administration after all. They had to be spanked into submission.
Ultimately, this lawsuit is about making lawyers actually obey the LAW. And the judge agreed.
And he gave the DOJ until July 2 to comply with the order.
What does a country do when the chief law enforcement officer of the land has to be forced to do what he took an oath to do?
I tell you what we shouldn’t do. Give him the job permanently. He hasn’t earned it. He doesn’t deserve it. And if you give it to him your moral compass is as transactional as his.
And you will have absolutely earned the title of the party that protects pedophiles.
