An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Restore funding for the William Way Center

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I write to urge you to work to restore the federal Congressionally Directed Spending funds that were earmarked for the William Way Center in Center City Philadelphia. I understand that the funds were withdrawn after anti-LGBTQIA+ extremists spread lies and misinformation about programs that are held at the Center. These funds were to be used to renovate and expand the Center’s headquarters at 1315 Spruce Street. As one of your constituents who is also a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I urge you to do two things: First, you must clearly refute such misinformation when it is spread by those who seek to damage our community. Second, work with your fellow members of both the House and Senate, with Mayor Parker, and with the Center’s Executive Director, Chris Bartlett, to restore these funds so that the work can move forward. I will appreciate hearing your thoughts on this matter.
