ICE was redundant from the time it was created in 2004 or so. It was created as an overlay on functions already carried out by other parts of our government. At the time, we were warned that it could become a rogue paramilitary, and indeed it has. It harms people; it does not protect them. It is lawless, not law-abiding. It is as anti-American as we can get. Defunding ICE would be good; abolishing ICE would be better.
