REJECT SECTION 1217 of the NDAA. Reclaim your powers; block new Trump tariffs

I object to section 1217 of the NDAA. I ask you to VOTE AGAINST any version of the NDAA that contains it, or any version of it. ........... ................................................................................................................................................................. . Section 1217 of the Senate's Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) contains the United States-Israel Framework for Upgraded Technologies, Unified Research, and Enhanced Security Act (the FUTURES Act). It establishes a joint defense tech framework, among other things. ............. ..................................................................................................................................................................... ........ This provision threatens U.S. sovereignty, security and military independence; it could expose sensitive technology and intelligence to a foreign government. It establishes an unprecedented, unwanted, perilous unheard of arrangement. This novel and unheard of provision would require the defense secretary, in consultation with Israel’s defense minister, to establish a permanent cooperative initiative intended to accelerate bilateral defense research, testing, evaluation, industrial coordination and the integration of Israeli-origin or jointly developed technology into U.S. weapons systems and formal acquisition programs. ........ ................................... .......... .......... ........................................................................................................................................................................... Along with rejecting section 1217 of the NDAA, I also ask you to speak out against Trump's latest plans to impose a broad range of TARIFFS-- yet another illegal unconstitutional overreach. The courts are now recognising that it is not an emergency all the time. Congress needs to step up. The Senate needs to tell Trump to stop crying wolf.................. ....................... It's time for Congress to reclaim its constitutional powers of the purse, over tariffs, and its war powers.................................................................................................................................. Please hold the line and uphold the Constitution. Please take all measures you can to insist on a return to constitutional order, including impeachment of the president.
