An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Protect the Freedom of the Press!

15 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am concerned about the White House's actions to restrict press access and transparency. The Associated Press lawsuit against White House officials is a necessary step to safeguard the freedom of the press, a core tenet of democracy. An informed public requires journalists having reasonable access to cover and report on the presidency. Limiting media credentials and revoking access without proper justification corrodes government accountability. As a supporter of the First Amendment, I urge a resolution that respects the vital role of a free press in our society. Protecting this fundamental freedom preserves crucial checks and balances on those in power.
