Investigate and Prosecute ICE’s Unlawful Brutal Acts: It’s Called ‘Due Process’
39 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!
We call on our elected leaders to:
Suspend all ICE arrest quotas that pressure agents to make indiscriminate arrests, especially those targeting non‑violent migrants, U.S. citizens, and lawful permanent residents.
Require full transparency on ICE’s use‑of‑force policies, including a public database of every incident involving force, injury, or death since 2017.
Mandate independent oversight by a bipartisan congressional subcommittee (e.g., the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations) with subpoena power to audit ICE operations, staffing decisions, and budget allocations.
End the practice of reassigning specialized investigators (human‑trafficking, transnational gang units, etc.) to routine immigration enforcement, preserving expertise for serious criminal investigations.
Implement robust whistle‑blower protections for current and former ICE personnel who report unlawful orders, unsafe working conditions, or retaliation.
Cease the recruitment “war‑time” advertising campaign that glorifies mass arrests and dehumanizes migrants, and instead fund mental‑health and community‑support programs for ICE staff experiencing burnout.
Revoke any funding that incentivizes arrest numbers and replace it with resources for humane, lawful processing of immigration cases, including legal counsel for detainees.
Hold accountable any officials who threaten or intimidate elected representatives, journalists, or community advocates for speaking out about ICE practices.
Investigate and prosecute any ICE agent who violates federal, state, or local law, including unlawful use of force, illegal detention of U.S. citizens, or participation in corrupt or abusive actions.
This Matters
Human Rights: Recent reporting shows ICE agents operating under unrealistic daily‑arrest targets—up to 3,000 arrests per day—leading to wrongful detentions of U.S. citizens, green‑card holders, and people with no criminal record.
Officer Well‑Being: Burnout, long hours, and fear of retaliation are eroding morale and safety within ICE, compromising both staff and public security.
Public Trust: Aggressive raids, viral videos of masked agents, and “Abolish ICE” protests illustrate a deep loss of confidence in the agency’s legitimacy.
Our Demand
We demand an immediate, comprehensive investigation and policy overhaul that ends ICE’s legal excesses and brutality, restores accountability, and protects both the communities it serves and the agents who work within it—including swift legal action against any agent who breaks the law.
