An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Do not vote for the reconciliation bill until ICE is dismantled

The Trump administration redirected nearly one in four FBI employees — including one in five special agents — away from criminal investigations and into immigration enforcement. It comes from FBI records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by The Intercept. When the U.S. bombed Iran last summer, the FBI had to scramble to rebuild its counterterrorism capacity — because it had already been hollowed out for deportation operations. Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill last year, giving ICE and CBP roughly $140 billion. This week, Senate Republicans introduced a new reconciliation bill asking for $140 billion more. We are still not safe. Remove ALL Congress members who are voting to increase spending on ICE while leaving Americans more unsafe than we were before. Do NOT vote to increase spending on ICE or the new reconciliation bill until ICE and DHS has been dismantled, Trump and his regime have been impeached, and the department of " war" is changed back to defense.
