An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Overturn excess visa fees to promote international travel to the USA.

This exorbitant $250 "visa integrity fee" for visitors to enter the United States is deeply concerning. As an airline employee, I have valid worries that this additional cost will discourage international tourism and travel to our country. A decline in visitor numbers will negatively impact airline profitability and consequently affect employee compensation and profit-sharing programs. Instead of imposing burdensome fees that jeopardize a crucial economic sector, exploring alternative deficit reduction measures that do not penalize middle-class workers would have been a more prudent approach. I urge you to reconsider this counterproductive policy that stands to harm travel industry employees and American economic interests.
