Oppose & Vote NO on Frank Bisignano to Head Social Security Administration

Today I take pen in hand to write you, Senator and urge you to oppose the nomination of Frank Bisignano's to lead the Social Security Administration. Like many of this Administration’s nominees, Bisignano’s statements in committee raise serious red flags about safeguarding this vital program for millions of Americans. As a self-professed "DOGE person," his association with the illegally created Department of Government Efficiency's push to reduce services and access for Social Security recipients is alarming. The plan to require in-person identity verification while simultaneously closing field offices creates an undue burden, particularly for those with limited mobility or internet access. Cutting 7,000 jobs and reducing nationwide phone services will only exacerbate the challenges people face in accessing their earned benefits. Mr. Bisignano's background in corporate finance does not necessarily qualify him to steward a program that provides a vital lifeline for retirees, disabled individuals, and children. The continuous lies parroted by him and others using the label entitlements show that he has ZERO commitment to protecting Social Security benefits remains uncertain given the recent turmoil instigated by the Department of Government Efficiency under his potential leadership. The Social Security Administration is one of the most efficient departments in government, carrying out its mission for over 80 years. It’s the biggest trust fund in existence, and we have been paying into it our whole lives. The Social Security program is too critical to put at risk through policies that diminish its accessibility and efficiency. We must prioritize preserving and strengthening Social Security for current and future generations of Americans who rely on it. There are bills that will do this. Maintaining robust services and avoiding unnecessary barriers to benefits should be paramount. Vote NO on his nomination. Thank you.
