Respect Carter's Legacy, Maintain Full Mourning Period

Honor Carter: Observe Full Mourning Period I strongly disagree with the decision to raise flags to full staff on Inauguration Day while the nation mourns President Jimmy Carter's passing. President Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, dedicated his life to advancing peace, human rights, and democracy. Cutting short the customary 30-day mourning period diminishes his legacy and undermines the traditions that honor those who served at the highest level. Inaugurations symbolize the peaceful transfer of power, but respecting President Carter's contributions should take precedence over partisan optics. I urge you to keep flags at half-staff for the full mourning period, demonstrating our nation's unity and respect for his decades of service. Thank you for your consideration.
