Good evening,
I grow weary of writing to you in an effort to get the US to do something substantial in support of Armenia, Artsakh, and Armenians. The situation there is grim and it seems like the West does not care.
The US built one of its largest embassies ever in Yerevan. Why is that? Surely the US must see some value in Armenia and it’s people. However that has not been evident over the past 9 months since Azerbaijan invaded Artsakh and carpet bombed civilians.
The situation is a humanitarian and moral crisis. With Turkey and Azerbaijan employing genocidal rhetoric against Armenians. It’s as if 1915 is starting to be repeated. In 1915 the world stayed silent while upwards of 1.5 million Armenians were killed.
We have more technology and more capabilities and now thankfully a presidential administration that one would think would take steps against the immoral, inhumane and disgusting actions of Azerbaijan and its enabler, Turkey.
While I understand why the US has long pacified and tolerated Turkey’s anti-democratic and disloyal leanings, it’s way past time for the strategy of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” to end. We must be a true moral standard bearer for the world, not just when convenient. Please do the right thing to prevent additional incidents like the one described in this Facebook post from happening. And to prevent further death and annihilation of Armenians. https://www.facebook.com/100000183001157/posts/4616939108322144/
