LOOKS LIKE THE MAN CAN MAKE A DEAL AFTER ALL. JUST NOT FOR US

I might have to revise my option of Donald Trump’s dealmaking ability. Yes we might be stuck in an endless conflict/war in Iran. No he hasn’t ended any of the wars he promised that only he could. No he hasn’t actually solved any of America’s current financial anxieties. In fact it could be said he’s made them worse. Hell, he can’t even get a good party done. BUT, when it comes to his own fortunes, he’s been exceptionally successful. We’ve all read about how he’s used the office of the president to feather his and his family’s nest beyond recognition. How he’s managed to make the presidency the biggest revenue stream on the planet. And how it seems he’s managed to somehow finagle we the people into paying for every single one of his vanity projects, even though he promised deals that wouldn’t cost us a penny. And we don’t want any of them. However, the latest deal he’s managed may top all the others... Remember his ‘slush fund’ designed to reward various loyalties, up and to and including reparations for January 6 insurgents? Remember how he had promised them such for a long time? Well that’s not gonna fly after all, which he probably well knew all along. BUT the nice little addendum added at the last minute to protect him, his family, and other business associates from any IRS investigation past, present, or future, remains intact. And I’m assuming it will stay so. He’ll get to keep this particular immunity as a consolation prize for the loss of the other payola. It’s doubtful the loss of his 1776 slush salute will keep him awake at night. But it’s certain the IRS deal is making his happy dancing even happier. So bravo. He gets to say so sorry, but the devils in Congress won’t let him give money to his supporters. And makes himself out to be the hero who tried. And y’all the villains who stopped him. And the real sought victory is the get-of-jail-free-card forever for any tax peccadillos that might occur. Ever. Now that’s a deal the rest of we the people might like. Except we aren’t crooks.
