HR 58 VOTER INTEGRITY PROTECTION ACT IS A WASTE OF TIME

This proposed legislation aims to make unlawful voting by non-citizens in federal elections an aggravated felony under immigration law. However, cases of non-citizen voting are extremely rare, and making it a priority issue seems misguided. There are more pressing matters that Congress should focus on to truly uphold democratic principles and serve all constituents fairly. Rather than perpetuating harmful anti-immigrant narratives, representatives should devote their efforts to substantive policy reforms that protect civil rights and expand access to the democratic process. Upholding voting rights and combating systemic barriers to participation should be the priority to strengthen our electoral system's integrity for all Americans.
