USDA Must Vaccinate Domestic Bird Populations to Stop Spread of Avian Flu

Experts believe avian flu is being transmitted through the air, not just physical contact. This belief is founded on solid data collection surrounding the transmission patterns from farm to farm. The only effective method of controlling an airborne disease is vaccination of the agricultural bird population, but the USDA refuses to take this crucial step. All it will take is a human infected with a standard flu virus to get infected with avian flu as well for this to mutate and turn into another human pandemic. I call on Congress to demand the USDA vaccinate the domestic bird stock across the country to shut this down before it spreads to humans.
