The story of Vermont Strong is about coming together to help each other through hard times. It’s not just about natural disasters, though; it’s also about supporting each other’s resilience when life gets hard. You have a chance to do that now.
We’ve already lost too many of our community members to suicide. Those of us writing to you now who have wrestled with suicidal ideation have been privileged to receive enough of the help we’ve needed thus far, but too many in our communities are struggling to keep our heads above water. And the easy availability of firearms isn’t helping.
This bill will make our lives better by offering a few more barriers to an otherwise all-too-easy exit, and giving us all another chance to help our family members, friends, and neighbors overcome their loneliness, isolation, and despair.
Help your neighbors help each other. Help us all have a few more days to save our loved-ones’ lives. Help prevent firearms falling into the hands of children.
