An open letter to the U.S. Senate (Nev. only)

Balanced approach towards sustainable housing and wilderness preservation

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The proposal makes over 15,200 acres of public lands available for sale to meet housing needs, but it's wasteful to develop more land instead of requiring sustainable redevelopment of existing areas or making current housing more affordable. Taxing housing vacancies could motivate landlords to offer units at market rates rather than sacrificing undeveloped spaces. While the proposal protects over 1,000,000 acres from future development, a balanced approach should prioritize maximizing existing housing stock before allocating new federal property.
