USAID has eliminated over 90% of its contracts since January. More than 5,200 programs have been axed, from HIV prevention to famine relief to climate aid. These cuts aren’t strategic—they are chaotic and cruel. Over 300,000 excess deaths have already been linked to the disruption. Former USAID officials and global health experts warn this mass dismantling of U.S. aid endangers lives, undermines national security, and hands global influence to rivals like China.
We demand immediate oversight and action. Congress must investigate these cuts and reinstate essential programs. Our courts must ensure that life-saving aid is not subject to reckless political whims.
