An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Oppose Rescinding the Roadless Rule- Protect Our Forested Lands From Capitalism

236 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

I oppose rescinding the roadless rule. Studies have found wildfire impact is actually slightly worse in areas with roads than in areas without, many of our roadless areas are near headwaters for rivers and streams which could be contaminated by logging and road-building, and the negative impact to hundreds of species of animals is incalculable. The current roadless rule already allows for some fire mitigation management, so the only benefit in rescinding the rule will be logging revenue, which will not benefit the people of our nation at all. I OPPOSE RESCINDING the roadless rule and I ask Congress to protect our forested lands from the greedy hands of capitalism.
