Call the "threat from within" what it is: anyone who disagrees with Trump

I am writing to you as your constituent and an American Citizen today. The pace at which the current administration is speeding towards dehumanization of massive sections of the populace is terrifying. Starting around October 2024, Trump started mentioning "the enemy from within" more frequently, while declining to actually name an enemy. This vague, "us vs them" mentality is incredibly dangerous, and evokes language used by McCarthyism and Fascism. More recently, JD Vance mentioned "the threat from within" in his speech at the Munich Security conference, pushing a hypocritical explanation of the benefits of free speech for far-right and hate groups, while on the other side of the Atlantic his Administration was blocking the Associated Press from press conference for continuing to say Gulf of Mexico and firing judges and inspector generals that did not bend the knee. To Trump and Vance, the threat from within is clear: anyone who disagrees with them. To the average American, the actual threat is much more insidious: those who seek to undo American checks and balances through flurries of executive orders, illegal firings, illegal freezing of grants, and other undemocratic and unconstitutional actions. I hope you agree that history sets a precedent for the issues with this phrase, especially from the highest office in the land. Stop allowing the Presidential Administration to demonize American citizens, civil servants, and anyone else they cannot force to support their destruction of the federal government. Stand up for what is right. Stand up for the US Constitution before it is too late. I look forward to hearing back.
