Ambulances aren't luxuries

An ambulance should not be a luxury. Injured people shouldn't have to beg bystanders to call an Uber instead of an ambulance because they cannot afford it. Ambulances are essential services, or they should be. In California they are not considered essential services. Paramedics are paid so little that many have to get a second job. We need to fix this. Ambulances should be essential government services that pay life savings paramedics appropriately, while not bankrupting the people who need them. Ambulances are funded and regulated at the state level. The condition of our EMS services are your responsibility. Please do better.
