The Trump administration is attacking the rights of transgender Americans, this time by reinstating a cruel and baseless ban on transgender service members. This policy isn’t about military readiness, it’s about discrimination, plain and simple.
Under Trump’s new directive, transgender individuals are barred from enlisting in the military, and those already serving face impossible ultimatums: suppress their identity or face discharge. The policy even denies transgender service members access to necessary medical care, forcing them to choose between their health and their careers.
We cannot allow this administration to erase transgender people from public life, let alone from serving their country. It’s time to fight back.The U.S. military should be focused on capability and commitment, not on pushing a far-right ideological agenda that harms the very people willing to risk their lives for this country. Our transgender service members deserve better. They deserve respect, protection, and the right to serve openly without fear of being cast aside. We must make our voices heard and demand an end to this disgraceful policy.
