Oppose H.R. 1229 and End U.S. Partnership with Israel

I am writing in the strongest possible terms to demand that you oppose H.R. 1229, the “U.S.-Israel Partnership and Abraham Accords Enhancement Act of 2023.” Not only is support for this bill unconscionable, it is a moral failure to even consider deepening ties with a government actively committing ethnic cleansing, enforcing apartheid, and waging a genocidal campaign against Palestinians. Israel’s actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem are not matters of foreign policy nuance—they are crimes against humanity. The government of Israel has deliberately targeted civilians, bombed hospitals, starved an entire population, and defied international law at every turn. To label this relationship a “partnership” is to align the United States with atrocities that will stain our global standing for generations. H.R. 1229 not only celebrates this partnership—it seeks to expand and entrench it. That is reprehensible. At a time when the world is demanding justice, accountability, and an end to the genocide in Gaza, this bill proposes to send even more military and technological support to the very perpetrators. That is not diplomacy—it is complicity. The United States must immediately disengage from all forms of partnership with Israel until it complies with international law, ends its occupation, lifts its siege on Gaza, and ceases all military operations targeting civilians. Continuing to aid and abet a government engaged in apartheid and mass killings is not only a violation of international law—it is a betrayal of every democratic and humanitarian principle we claim to uphold. I urge you to not only vote NO on H.R. 1229 but to publicly condemn this bill and call for a complete reevaluation of our relationship with Israel. Your constituents are watching, and we will not forget who stood on the side of justice—and who chose to endorse genocide.
