Trump has installed the most incompetent, inexperienced, conspiracy-theory-believing, opposite-of-what-the-job-requires people in his administration with the sole goal of destroying credibility in their agency missions. DOGE is devastating agencies and lives of the people who make them function to enable the takeover by private interests when government stops functioning. A government intended to work for, and for the good of, the American people is turned over to profit-seeking business interests so operations can be run more efficiently. Not for the people. For profit. Government lands will be turned over to private interests. Not for the people. For profit. Government buildings will be sold to the highest bidder, and then leased back to the government. Not for the people. For profit. Everything that possibility can be, will be, run as a business. Governed by shareholders’ need for ever-increasing profits. Which means definitely not for the people. Then the president will serve as the country’s CEO. Rewarding compliance. Punishing the free-market. Quid pro quo corruption. But please tell us how collecting taxes from we the people feeds this storyline? Are we to be shareholders in our government? Will we receive dividends? How will this new, improved, efficient, profits-over-people, apparatus work? But until that fever dream is realized, here’s what we actually have so far from our business-oriented CEO/President… The Trump administration has already lost more than 50 court cases. Good thing he’s got lots of high-powered pro-bono lawyers lined up. Trump's immigration policy involves deporting people in the country legally. Proof of…? Trump's tariff threats sent the economy into chaos. His approval rating on the economy is historically low. Voters are worried about Medicaid cuts that are absolutely going to happen. Trump used the WH for a Tesla commercial because Elon’s company was/is tanking. Veterans have lost access to resources and jobs. Thank you for your service. More than 24,000 federal workers have been laid off. Iceberg tip. Consumer confidence is at a 12 year low. And our security agencies are now conducting war plans on their phones using an app. Oh, and Trump also aspires to a Putin-type imperialism by acquiring Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal. With or without military action. I guess if you relish the pain of others, that list belongs in the political destruction hall of fame. But if you're looking for long-lasting accomplishments beyond half-baked EOs immediately thrown out in court, you're going to be looking a long time. Why is the party that controls the WH, the House, and the Senate unable to do the work coherently, capably, competently, and without chaos for the good of constituents and country? Is it because you couldn’t care less? Because if you did, you’d do your jobs.
