An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Oversight and Transparency from DOGE to Protect Privacy

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

It is concerning that DOGE, an agency or advisory body under the executive branch, has been granted access to sensitive databases containing private information about American citizens without proper congressional oversight. Allowing DOGE employees to obtain security clearances raises questions about the potential mishandling or unauthorized sharing of this data. As representatives entrusted with upholding democratic principles, it is imperative that you exercise your constitutional authority to demand transparency and accountability from DOGE. Compelling them to respond to Freedom of Information Act requests and testify before Congress would enable crucial public scrutiny of their practices and ensure they are operating within the bounds of the law. Protecting the privacy rights of the people must take precedence over any unchecked expansion of executive power. I urge you to take immediate action to establish robust oversight mechanisms and safeguards against potential abuses by DOGE.
