I understand that Senators Schatz, Durbin, and Welch have introduced a joint resolution to amend the U.S. Constitution to abolish the Electoral College and mandate that the president be elected by the popular vote. I want the Senator to support it. The Electoral College is outdated and undemocratic. It’s got to go. Abolishing the college has bipartisan support from voters across the country. Its mere existence is undemocratic and must go.
