As a practicing artist, I am very concerned about the current and future unbridled proliferation of Artificial Intelligence or “AI”. Aside from the devastating impact it will have on the future job market, AI is really just a alias for “plagiarism software”. Whether it is prose, music, or visual in nature, AI simply copies bits of work already created by thousands of artists, distorts it, and regurgitates it into something seemingly “original”. Nothing it produces is original, as it feeds on the existing copy-writes of true creators. This shows AI as a parasitic device, that has the ability to undermine the very fabric of our society. I ask you to seek legislation that will control its use and abuse.
