Urgent Call for the Impeachment of Donald J. Trump

I am writing to express deep concern regarding President Donald J. Trump’s actions in his second term, which I believe warrant immediate impeachment. His administration’s conduct includes violations of federal and international law, abuses of power, and breaches of constitutional duties.
1. Unauthorized Database Access
Nineteen Democratic state attorneys general are suing the Treasury Department and Elon Musk’s DOGE agency for unlawfully accessing a federal payments database containing sensitive financial information. This likely violates the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a).
2. Discriminatory Policies
Trump’s executive orders banning gender marker changes on passports and prohibiting federal funding for gender-affirming care violate the Fourteenth Amendment, Title IX (20 U.S.C. § 1681), and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (42 U.S.C. § 18116).
3. Revocation of Biden’s Security Clearance
Trump revoked former President Joe Biden’s security clearance without justification, an abuse of power that undermines the integrity of executive privilege and could violate the Presidential Records Act (44 U.S.C. § 2201-2209).
4. Dismantling USAID
A federal judge blocked Trump’s attempt to dissolve USAID following lawsuits by federal employee unions. This action could violate the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. § 2151 et seq.), which mandates the administration of foreign aid programs.
5. Incitement of Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza
Representative Al Green has announced plans to file articles of impeachment, accusing Trump of inciting ethnic cleansing in Gaza, a potential violation of the Geneva Conventions and international human rights law.
6. Abuse of Pardon Power
Trump pardoned or commuted sentences for over 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6 attack. While the pardon power is broad, such mass pardons raise serious concerns about undermining the rule of law and potentially obstructing justice.
7. Violations of the Emoluments Clauses
Trump has continued to receive payments from foreign governments through his businesses, violating the Constitution’s Domestic and Foreign Emoluments Clauses, creating conflicts of interest and undermining public trust.
These actions collectively endanger democratic institutions and national security. Immediate impeachment proceedings are necessary to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.
