Investigate Hegseth's Interference in Army Pilot Suspension

The Senate Armed Services Committee must immediately investigate Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's decision to lift the suspension of four Army crewmembers who conducted an unauthorized flyby of Kid Rock's Nashville home. This represents a dangerous breach of military discipline and oversight. The Army had properly suspended the pilots and launched an administrative review to assess compliance with FAA regulations, aviation safety protocols, and approval requirements. Hegseth overrode this process entirely, announcing on social media that there would be no punishment and no investigation. He called the pilots "patriots" and thanked Kid Rock, a Trump campaign ally who bragged that his "buddy's the commander in chief" would protect him. This sets a catastrophic precedent. Military aircraft cannot be diverted for personal favors to political allies. The 101st Airborne Division helicopters hovered over Kid Rock's pool while he saluted them, after he had met the unit during a visit with Vice President Vance. The Army's own spokesman emphasized that aviators must adhere to strict safety standards and professionalism, yet Hegseth blocked any accountability. The committee has oversight authority over the Defense Secretary. Use it. Investigate whether Hegseth violated his duty to maintain military discipline and whether political favoritism now dictates military operations.
