Demand Action on UN Report Documenting Killing of 38,000 Women and Girls in Gaza I am writing with urgency and horror regarding new data released by UN Women documenting the devastating toll of Israel's war on Gaza specifically on women and girls. According to the UN, over 38,000 women and girls were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and December 2025—at least 22,000 women and 16,000 girls. This represents a significantly higher proportion of female deaths than in previous regional conflicts. An additional 11,000 women have been injured. Approximately one million women and girls remain displaced within the Gaza Strip. Extensive infrastructure damage has made it "almost impossible" for women to access basic healthcare. The World Health Organization reports that over 500,000 women lack access to crucial antenatal and postnatal services. Children continue to suffer at an alarming rate, with at least 214 children killed in the past six months alone, despite the so-called ceasefire. UN Women also reports that many households are now headed by women facing severe economic hardship, without income or essential services. These women are at heightened risk of exploitation and harm. This is not collateral damage. This is a gendered pattern of killing and displacement that demands accountability. The United States has funded and armed this war. American bombs have fallen on neighborhoods where these women and girls lived. American diplomatic cover has protected the government carrying out these acts. I demand that you take immediate action: 1. Publicly condemn the killing of over 38,000 women and girls in Gaza as a violation of international humanitarian law. 2. Support an immediate, permanent, and enforceable ceasefire with independent monitoring. 3. Suspend all military aid to Israel until there is full accountability for these deaths. 4. Call for UN-led investigation into gender-based violence and killings in Gaza. Silence is complicity. The United States must stop funding the killing of women and children.
