An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Vote NO on the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression Act

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to vote NO and reject the ‘‘Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression Act’’ recently introduced in Congress by Republicans. This bill is intended to overturn ballot measures in California and Massachusetts that prohibit cruel animal practices in the animal husbandry industry. They’re clearly hoping to keep these practices going in the states where the Republican legislators live. However, it’s not just about humane treatment of food animals, it has far-ranging effects on human health. Republican members of Congress are again hypocrites. There are no state’s rights when it comes to things they want. California is a huge agricultural state, with stockyards for miles, and millions of animals. The law has even been upheld by the Supreme Court. Vote No on the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression Act. It has nothing to do with trade and helps no one but the factory farm corporations. Thank you for your service.
