We need to put an end to the concentration camps. We treat the fascists who attempted a coup with more care and respect than we do people seeking safety. Nobody should be illegal. Lift the immigration limits. Allow anyone to become a citizen. Freedom of movement is a basic human right. Having border restrictions causes hundreds of deaths every year. We claim our diversity is our strength but we act like it's a weakness and a shame. We send so many people to their deaths we could easily save and for no reason other than cowardice. When people desperate for safety try to get to safety anyway we call them illegal, hunt them, abuse and rape them. They live in fear in the United States because going back is worse. This is who America has always been, xenophobic and racist. Willing to overthrow governments but not protect the people who are left to deal with the consequences. We don't have to be that though. We can be better. There is no acceptable number of deaths. There is no acceptable number of rapes, and beatings. The people who live beyond our borders are not a lesser people.
