An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (N.Y. only)

Tenants’ rights

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am a lifelong New Yorker, and I (as well as most of the people I know and love) are rent paying tenants. The new budget being considered is a slap in the face to the working people of New York, especially millennials like myself who inherited an economy in which home ownership is not attainable for much of the middle class. Tenants should not be at the total mercy of their landlords simply because their building was built before 1994 or because their landlord owns 10 or fewer properties. In my opinion, fake progressivism can often be worse than naked reactionary politics. I on only vote for, donate to, and rally for candidates that have tenants’ backs in tangible ways. I hope I can count on you to do more than pay lip service to the millions of New Yorkers who pay rent. I’ll be following your actions on this issue with great interest.
