Take a Stand Against DOGE Usurping Congressional Authority It is Congress, not DOGE, that holds the responsibility for funding federal agencies. Furthermore, it is certainly not the president's role to determine if that funding aligns with his personal goals. Allowing this usurpation of congressional power undermines our democratic system. Despite the criticisms, USAID accounts for less than 1% of government spending, yet it plays a crucial role in fostering goodwill for the United States around the world. If we do not fulfill our commitments, we risk ceding that goodwill to rivals such as China and Russia. We must reclaim congressional authority before we unwittingly pave the way toward a dictatorship. Stand up for democracy and ensure that our elected representatives retain their rightful power.
