An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject harmful federal workforce cuts impacting vital services

The Trump administration's plan for large-scale layoffs of federal workers is deeply concerning. Reducing the workforce to this extent could cripple vital government services and functions that millions of Americans rely on. Our federal agencies play a critical role in safeguarding public health, protecting civil rights, supporting our military, and much more. Mass layoffs threaten to undermine the effective operation of these agencies and the expertise of their career civil servants. This reorganization appears politically motivated rather than rooted in responsible governing. Dismantling the federal workforce to advance any ideological agenda at the expense of crucial public services is unacceptable. I urge you to reconsider this harmful course of action that puts partisan interests over the needs of the American people and the principles of good governance. Our government should work for all citizens, not pursue an extreme agenda that damages its ability to fully serve the nation.
