I'm writing you again today, and plan to do so until more substantial action is taken by the US and other major powers, to ask that you do everything in your power to push for peace for Armenians in Artsakh-Karabakh. The fighting is now in its fourth week and things are not looking good. Young men on both sides are needlessly dying but yet Azerbaijan continues its aggression against peaceful Armenians. Today I read about the amount of money Azerbaijan has spent on lobbying the US government. This kind of thing should either be illegal or more strongly regulated. US government officials should not be swayed by top PR firms or other highly paid entities who in this case put out disinformation through op-eds. Additionally Azerbaijan, much like Russia and its interference in US elections, has been waging a disinformation war aimed at sullying Armenia and Armenians' reputation. With these folks, black is white, wrong is right, and up is down. I appreciate your time and attention to this issue. Please don't let 2020 repeat the mistakes of the early 1900s when Ambassador Morgenthau's pleas to the US administration went unheard and millions of Armenians died at the hands of the Turks.
