I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent efforts to dismantle Voice of America (VOA). This decision threatens U.S. global influence by weakening our ability to counter authoritarian propaganda and promote democratic values. Additionally, it sets a dangerous precedent for government interference in independent journalism, undermining press freedom. Finally, millions in authoritarian regions rely on VOA for unbiased news—its closure could leave them vulnerable to state-controlled misinformation. I urge you to oppose any actions that would weaken VOA’s mission and to support legislation ensuring its continued operation. Thank you for your time and attention to this critical issue.
