Demand Delay and Opposition to the Harmful Budget Reconciliation Bill

I urge you in the strongest possible terms to do everything in your power to delay and stop the newly revised budget reconciliation bill. Released just before midnight on a Friday, this bill is not only egregiously harmful—it is deeply unpopular, undemocratic, and dangerous.
While some of the most incendiary provisions were removed, the bill’s core remains unchanged: permanent tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, paid for by slashing Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act. Nearly 12 million Americans stand to lose their health insurance. It funnels billions more into ICE—more than the entire U.S. Bureau of Prisons—fueling an inhumane, bloated deportation machine.
The bill’s cost is also being masked by gimmicks. Independent analysis shows it would add $4.2 trillion to the national debt—ten times more than Republicans claim.
I strongly encourage you and your Democratic colleagues to use every available tool to block this legislation, including calling for a "vote-a-rama"—a process where senators can propose an unlimited number of amendments. This tactic would not only delay the final vote, it would force Republicans to go on the record supporting divisive and politically toxic policies that benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyday Americans.
Use this moment to hold the floor, slow the process, and expose the cruel priorities embedded in this bill.
History is watching. Democracy should serve the people—not just the top 1%.
