An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject renaming Veterans Day; honor all service members

11 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

There is no valid justification for renaming Veterans Day to "Victory Day for World War I." This proposed change fundamentally disrespects the intent behind Veterans Day, which is to honor all those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, not just from a single war over a century ago. With so few remaining World War I veterans still alive today, this appears to be an attempt to rewrite history and undermine the recognition due to millions of other veterans from more recent conflicts. Such a move would be deeply insulting and fail to properly commemorate the sacrifices made by generations of service members in defense of our nation. We must preserve the dignity and purpose of Veterans Day as it currently stands.
