Stop Book Bans – Protect Our Freedom to Read

I am writing to demand that you stop the growing movement to ban books in our public schools and libraries. Every person has the right to read, learn, and think freely. The First Amendment protects our freedom of speech and expression, and that includes the freedom to access books and ideas—even those that may challenge us.
As a parent, I will decide what books are right for my family. No politician or government official has the right to make that choice for me—or for anyone else. Book bans are not about protecting children. They are about control, silencing diverse voices, and erasing stories that make us think critically about the world.
Books are not dangerous. Ignorance is. Books teach people about history, other cultures, empathy, and how to understand different perspectives. When we remove books from shelves, we are teaching children fear instead of curiosity, and censorship instead of freedom. That is not the America our Constitution promises.
The “good guys” in history have never been the ones banning books. Stand on the right side of history. Protect free thought, free expression, and the right of all families to make their own choices.
I urge you to reject censorship and protect our public libraries and schools as places where knowledge, diversity, and freedom of thought can thrive.
