An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop Oak Flat mine land swap

60 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

The proposed land swap allowing Rio Tinto to access a massive underground copper deposit would irreparably harm sacred Apache land. This mine would destroy religious and archeological sites, drain precious water resources, and inflict severe environmental damage, all for corporate profits. We urge you to reject this exploitative deal that disrespects Native sovereignty and spiritual traditions. Prioritize environmental protection and indigenous rights over the interests of a foreign mining conglomerate. There are enough copper reserves globally to meet demand through recycling and sustainable practices without further harming this sacred land and its people.
