Fully Fund WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program and Ukraine Aid.

I am very concerned that two essential items still need to be funded despite the top-line deal to fund the government through March. First, Congress must agree to fully support the Women, Infant, and Child Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) at the level needed to prevent benefit cuts and/or waitlists. Congress can act now and fully fund WIC in 2024 and avoid risking nutrition security for nearly 6.7 million pregnant women, new mothers, babies, and young children across the country. Second, the House still hasn’t passed supplemental funding for Ukraine, which is a colossal mistake—funding Ukraine in their fight against Russia’s aggression is existential, not just for them, but for us. Please give Ukraine the money it needs to defend itself now! Later will be too late.
