Vote NO on HB01 and SB01, both anti transgender healthcare bills

I’m appalled and dismayed at the rapid advancement of HB01 and SB01 (both bills to ban transgender health care in TN). TN legislators are not doctors, psychologists, or social workers trained in diagnosing and treating gender dysphoria. I have a granddaughter who suffers with gender dysphoria. Last year while working with a psychologist she determined that she is non-binary and changed her pronouns to they / them. This is not some dreamed up affliction that children talk themselves into. It affects her daily life in ways you can’t imagine. Daniela (now Dani) will be 18 years old this spring. She’ll be headed to college and I’m hopeful she has a wonderful life at school. I think it is outrageous that TN legislators think they either can or should control healthcare decisions made by TN youth or in conjunction with their parents. Life is difficult enough for pre teen and teens without ham fisted legislators making healthcare decisions for them. I strongly urge you to oppose both HB01 and SB01. Both bills are legislative overreach that should be condemned by rational legislators in both houses. Thank you in advance for standing up for TN youth who suffer from gender dysphoria.
