An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Ceasefire NOW

5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I urge you to demand a ceasefire in Gaza immediately. Over 10,000 Palestinians have died as a result of the Israeli military’s indiscriminate violence on Palestinians in Gaza. We are watching a genocide unfold before us—under the guise of defense against a fringe group that does not represent all Palestinians—and our U.S. taxes are funding this horrific genocide of the Palestinian people. The Israeli government has cut off access to water, food, electricity, and internet while bombing known locations such as schools and hospitals where civilians have sought refuge. I fear that more civilians in Gaza AND the Israeli hostages who were taken will die with no accountability for the Israeli military’s actions, who have already committed war crimes according to the UN. The Israeli government officials have used genocidal language and have targeted Palestinians in the West Bank, where Hamas does not even reside. Experts on international conflicts call this a genocide. The American people do not support this genocide. The majority of Americans (66%) support a ceasefire. The global community overwhelmingly favors a ceasefire. This is a matter of prioritizing humanity. If you truly believe that Palestinian civilians are people who deserve aid and right to self determination, then you will push for a ceasefire NOW.
